About

HempLeads is HempAware's answer to one question: where are the buyers?

We are a small team with a specific job. We book B2B meetings for hemp and cannabis companies using cold email and social outreach. This page explains who we are and how the work gets done.

How HempLeads is put together

HempLeads is three things working together. We would rather tell you now than have you find out later.

The brand

HempLeads

The brand you are looking at. It owns the client relationship, the strategy, the ICP work, and the copy voice. Tyler Hemp runs it. When you book a call, you talk to Tyler.

The parent company

HempAware

The parent company. In the hemp industry since 2005, and the home of HempAware Radio since June 2013. HempAware brings the buyer knowledge, the compliance instincts, the data sources, and an audience of 10,000+ hemp and cannabis professionals.

Our fulfillment partner

The outbound engine. A specialist outbound firm that has run cold email and social outreach at scale across many industries for years. They build and warm the sending infrastructure, run the sequences, and handle reply routing under the HempLeads name. We chose them because they wrote the playbook we were already using. We do not name them on the site by agreement, and we will tell you exactly who they are on the call.

Why not build the engine ourselves?

Because doing deliverability well takes a team that does nothing else. We would rather pair our hemp knowledge with people who have sent millions of emails than learn the hard way on your account.

Tyler Hemp, founder

Tyler Hemp started HempAware in 2005 with the first HempAware Parties, and launched HempAware Radio in June 2013. Since then he has interviewed hundreds of people who grow, process, test, package, sell, and regulate hemp. He has run marketing for hemp and cannabis brands through every ad ban and platform policy change of the last decade.

HempLeads exists because of a pattern he kept seeing. Clients would come in for brand work, content, or a website, and the real question underneath was always the same. Who is going to buy this, and how do I reach them?

Tyler leads discovery, ICP definition, and copy direction on every HempLeads engagement.

Why we launched HempLeads

Three reasons, in order.

  1. The ad platforms closed the door and did not reopen it.

By 2020 it was clear that Meta, Google, and TikTok were not going to become reliable channels for hemp and cannabis companies. Every year since has confirmed it. The companies growing were the ones with a direct line to buyers.

  2. Our clients kept asking for buyers.

Brand work is valuable, but it does not put a purchasing manager on your calendar. We were referring clients out to generalist outbound agencies and watching those campaigns fail on deliverability, compliance, and copy that did not understand the buyer.

  3. The playbook existed. Nobody had applied it to hemp.

Cold email done properly, with warmed domains, hand-built lists, and value sent before the ask, works in every B2B market. We had the industry knowledge. We found a partner with the engine. HempLeads is the combination.

Hemp has been an American business crop before.

We have spent more than a decade telling hemp's story. These are a few of the pieces we come back to.

  • Send value first.

The first email gives the buyer something useful. A spec sheet, a line sheet, a sample offer. Then we ask.

  • Specifics beat volume.

A list of 800 verified buyers beats 20,000 scraped contacts. Every time.

  • No health claims. No THC-effect claims.

Not because a lawyer said so. Because buyers in this market trust companies that do not make them.

  • A human answers replies.

Inside one business day. Buyers can tell the difference.

  • We publish the process.

Nothing on this site says "proprietary". You can read every step.

  • We say no.

If you are not a fit, we tell you on the first call.
